Energy Audit

Training course for this certification.

An energy audit is the process of having a professional and NrCan certified energy auditor examine your facility for potential energy-saving measures. The energy audit report, the output of the energy assessment procedure, is also under the scope of the energy audit.

If you follow the recommendations in an energy audit report, your energy bills will go down. Every building is unique, and everyone has several ways to cut back on energy use. This is why every building is different and needs a distinct energy assessment.

An our energy auditors will visit your location as part of the energy audit, interview your facility manager, and examine your lighting, HVAC systems, water consumption devices, and anything else that uses energy. The auditor may monitor and collect data about air sealing, temperatures, pressures, light levels, power usage, and other things, depending on the type of audit.

A report on an energy audit normally includes a description of the building's current energy-consuming equipment, an energy balance, and—most importantly—a presentation of workable energy conservation measures (ECM). Each of these measures is created so that the report has the following information: a description of the current situation, a description of the proposed ECM, and the anticipated annual savings from the proposed ECM.

Straightforward repayment and/or additional financial indicators, including return on investment or life cycle savings While some of the ECMs found during the audit may take decades to pay for themselves, others will begin to do so in just a few months. Once you have the audit in hand, you can decide where to put your money toward energy efficiency.
