Natural Food Definitions

According to guidance from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), foods represented as natural should not contain added vitamins, artificial flavors, food additives, or synthetic ingredients, and should not be significantly processed.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) generally considers natural food to mean that nothing artificial or synthetic has been included in or added to a food that would not normally be expected to be present.
