ACS CANADA CERTIFICATION™ supports organizations throughout the ISO 14001 certification process, including application and contract review, audit planning, Stage 1 and Stage 2 assessment, surveillance, transition, and recertification activities.
ISO 14001 is the internationally recognized Environmental Management System (EMS) standard designed to help organizations systematically manage their environmental responsibilities, improve environmental performance, address applicable compliance obligations, manage environmental risks and opportunities, and support continual improvement.
ACS Canada works with organizations across a wide range of industries and helps clients identify an appropriate certification pathway based on their scope of activities, environmental aspects, customer requirements, contractual obligations, procurement requirements, and target markets.
Where accredited ISO 14001 certification is required, ACS Canada supports clients through applicable international accredited certification arrangements.
The responsible certification body, accreditation body, applicable accredited scope, and certificate verification pathway are identified in the relevant certification documentation.
One of ACS Canada's established accredited certification pathways is available through W3 SOLUTIONZ FZE dba ACS W3 SOLUTIONZ, accredited by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) under Accreditation No. MSCB-158, subject to the applicable accredited scope and certification requirements.
ACS Canada Certification Inc., located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is an IAS-approved Key Location operating within this accredited certification structure.
Through this approved Key Location framework, ACS Canada directly supports certification activities for Canadian clients , subject to the applicable accredited scope and certification requirements.
Where a client, contractual program, procurement requirement, or target market calls for a European accreditation pathway, ACS Canada may also support certification through appropriately accredited European certification bodies operating under national accreditation bodies participating in the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) MLA , subject to the applicable accredited scope, eligibility, and certification program requirements.
This provides organizations with access to a European accreditation pathway where such a pathway is relevant to customer, procurement, contractual, or market requirements.
Accredited certification pathways supported through ACS Canada may operate within internationally recognized multilateral accreditation frameworks, including accreditation bodies participating in the Global ACI Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and, where applicable in Europe, accreditation bodies participating in the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) MLA .
These international recognition arrangements support broader confidence in accredited conformity assessment results across participating markets, subject to the applicable accredited scope and the requirements of the receiving customer, regulator, procurement authority, contractual program, or jurisdiction.
Certification requirements are not always the same across every customer, contract, procurement program, or market. ACS Canada helps organizations identify an appropriate accredited certification pathway through its established international arrangements.
Depending on the applicable requirements, this may include internationally recognized accreditation pathways and, where relevant, European accreditation pathways involving accreditation bodies participating in the EA MLA.
Contact ACS Canada before beginning the certification process if your customer, tender, regulator, or target market specifies a particular accreditation or recognition requirement.
ISO 14001:2026 was published in April 2026 and replaces ISO 14001:2015 as the current edition of the international Environmental Management System standard.
Organizations currently certified to ISO 14001:2015 can transition their Environmental Management Systems and certification to ISO 14001:2026 in accordance with the applicable transition arrangements.
ACS Canada expects to be ready from January 2027 to conduct ISO 14001:2026 certification audits and support the issuance of accredited ISO 14001:2026 certificates through applicable accredited certification pathways, subject to completion of the relevant accreditation and transition requirements and the applicable accredited scope.
ACS Canada can support organizations in planning the timing of their transition assessment, including coordination with scheduled surveillance or recertification activities where appropriate.
